bulletMANNED GUARDING

We recruit for management positions at all levels from executive to first line.

The first line manager is usually known as contract or area manager.  A contract manager will be responsible for contracts worth around £1 million, staffed by some 150 security officers and a number of supervisors who look after large sites.  Responsibilities will include people management, client relations, budget and new business opportunities.

A regional or district manager will have  three or four contract managers reporting to him or her.

The third level, depending on the size of the  company will be regional director, general manager with revenue responsibility of around £8 million to £15 million per annum.

 Sales managers will have a quota of around £1 million.  Contracts vary in size from around £50,000 for 24x7x365 hour coverage by one security officer to several times that amount.  Manned guarding is a relative mature industry and new business is usually gained from competition.

COMPENSATION

The following are  for guidance only.

bulletContract managers: £25 to £28K
bulletRegional/ district managers: up to £35K
bulletRegional directors and general managers: over £40K.

There is normally an incentive element of between 15 and 25 per cent

bulletSales representatives: basic of around £25K with a commission opportunity of £5K in first year rising to £10 to £15K with experience.

Compensation packages from larger companies usually include a fully expensed car, pension and occasionally private health insurance.

bulletWaste Management

Contract managers who manage one or more contracts with a local authority for refuse collection, street cleaning, recycling. 

Responsible for a workforce of several hundred in case of large contracts, to provide a contracted service, measured by key performance indicators.  Responsible for equipment and vehicles, liaison, including negotiation with the client, monitoring budgets.

Compensation.    From £25K to over £35 for large contracts, with a bonus up to 10 percent, depending on corporate and contract performance.  Car allowance, pension, private health.
